CANDLE CARE & SAFETY

At True Joy Candle Co. we want you to enjoy the experience of using our products. It is very important to ensure the safe use of your candles as they can be a serious fire hazard:

• DO NOT leave candles burning unattended, keep them within sight at all times.
• Keep candles level and place on a heat-resistant, dry surface, away from anything that is flammable.
• The first time you burn your candle, make sure the wax melts to the edge. This will ensure an even candle with no tunneling for the duration of your candles life.
• Before re-lighting, trim off any "mushrooms" (black cap on the top of the wick) and keep wicks trimmed to 1/4" to prevent smoking and a high flame.
• Keep candles away from drafts and burn in a well ventilated area, drafts will cause smoking.
• To trim a wick, let wax cool and simply use a wick trimmer or a pair of scissors, trim wick and put trimmings in the garbage.
• Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches or an combustible material.
• Burn candles out of reach of children or pets.
• Keep matches and lighters out of the reach of children
• Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time, the flame can get too large and hot, which can cause smoking.
• When the top of the wick clip is exposed, your candle has reached the end of its life.
• Jars are 100% recyclable.
